Everything We Know About Ranking in the AI Era, in One Place
Search is changing faster than it has in twenty years, and most of what you read about it is either hype or gatekept behind a sales pitch. We do the opposite. We share what we know. Start with the plain-English explainer below, then dig into the guides, the blog, and the videos.
microSEO is currently in private beta with a small group of companies and SEO professionals. Schedule a strategy call to start now, or join the waitlist to be first in line when we open more broadly.

Three acronyms, one goal: getting found when people search with AI
The terminology is a mess right now, so here is the honest, plain-English version. No jargon for the sake of it.
AI SEO
Using AI to do SEO better and faster, and optimizing so you show up in AI-driven search, not just the old list of blue links. It is the broad practice that covers all of this. The part worth remembering: roughly 80 percent of it is still the same fundamentals that have always worked, and you still have to do all of it. The other 20 percent, the strategy and the AI-search work, is where most of the results now come from.
GEO, Generative Engine Optimization
Optimizing your content so it gets cited and surfaced in AI-generated answers, in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Claude. It is not a separate discipline. Google itself has said that optimizing for generative AI search is still just SEO. GEO is a piece of SEO, not a replacement for it. [link "read the full GEO guide" → GEO guide]
AEO, Answer Engine Optimization
The same idea from a slightly different angle: optimizing to be the answer when someone asks an AI or an answer engine a question. Some people say AEO, some say GEO. They point at the same goal, getting named when AI answers.
SEO is the umbrella. GEO and AEO are what you do inside it now that search returns answers instead of just links. And all of it rests on one principle we will not compromise on: content made for people, not for algorithms. That is what Google rewards, and it is what AI answer engines pull from. Anyone selling you “GEO secrets” or a separate “LLM-optimized” version of your content is selling you a shortcut that will not last.
